dallas and texas aren't that bad

I had the most appropriate introduciton to California and Los Angeles. First time I am visiting the state since i was a two year old. suffering from jet lag and lack of sleep from last night, we decided to get some wine and watch a movie at home, and hang out tomorrow night. so I stepped out to get wine at the corner store. a fire truck had just wailed past me, and i had paid no attention. but now at the corner i was puzzled as there was a wailing ambulance that just pulled to a stop and wud neither turn nor proceed ahead. before i could peer aroud the corner of the street I noticed a shivering young man by my side crying "Holy God... ... ..." so I quizzed him about his imminent problem. and he mumbled "two guys walkd into the restaurant, one guy got shot three times in heart and the other got hit pretty bad too". Now i was really curious, because pieces of a puzzle were falling in front of me. I asked this man where this incident happened and when. "look behind you" he said

WOW!!! that was my introduction to L.A. the whole neighborhood is cordoned off. tomorro night i shall go to Hollywood.

my complalints about DFW shall be tempered now. I spent all of today in LA driving and driving, alot more than in dallas. and then saw two guys killed. i also witnessed LA traffic.

the worst i can remember of Dallas is from the last weekend at Deep Ellum. i was walking down commerce figuring out which bar i'd might hang out in. turned on malcolmX and as I turned on Main - there were police cars, 11 of them and 22 officers all over. and all bar hoppers were on the street. reason - a bloody faced chic for the roller derby promotion or something. never seen a dead person in dallas yet or had a gun pulled in my face or seen real traffic jams there, well occasional slow traffic.

but is still dont like driving for my essentials, or gas prices. Dallas ain't that bad is it.
